Helene of the Blue Ridge
A Free Solo TTRPG Raising Awareness for the Impact of Hurricane Helene in Southern Appalachia
Hey everyone!
This letter is a little different. Hurricane Helene tore through the southern Appalachian Mountains and has caused monumental destruction. My family and I are safe, and very fortunate that our home was not damaged, we are just without power.
But many others were not as fortunate and have lost everything. I have written and released a solo journaling game to raise awareness and understanding about the difficult situation people are going through in the mountains of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee in the hardest-hit places.
Tabletop games have the powerful ability to transport you into someone else's shoes and glimpse the world through their eyes. And so, Helene of the Blue Ridge is a simple, guided journaling game that has you play as someone living in the blue ridge mountains when Hurricane Helene hits the area.
We hope you'll take a moment to check it out. No donations are expected, but 100% of them will be forwarded on to charities involved in the relief efforts.

Please share the link, the PDF, or even print it off and leave it places. It is released with an open license for you to do with it as you please.
As of this writing, we have raised over $550 via the game’s donations and after speaking with a friend from Asheville, NC, we will be donating this first round of donations to the American Red Cross, and the next to World Central Kitchen.
If you’d like to help, please consider donating to the American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, or purchase Helene of the Blue Ridge and we will get your donation forwarded on.
Many charities local to you may also be collecting supplies and goods to get into impacted areas.
While we are without power, Indie Press Revolution has been wonderful and agreed to fulfill our store orders until we are back on our feet. They have helped us grow as a business, supported us from the very beginning, and now continue to support us during this disaster. We cannot thank them enough.
Once our own power is back on, we have a lot of exciting news about the cozy-dark world of Midnight Muscadines we want to share with you. But for now, we’re going to focus on getting back on our feet!
Thank you for all your support,
-Andy Boyd
